    24 Pastry sticks

Ingredients

  • 2 tablespoons hot sweet chilli sauce
  • 1 cup strong Cheddar or parmesan, finely grated
  • ½ cup lean bacon, finely chopped
  • 1 teaspoon chilli flakes (optional)
  • 2 teaspoons of sweet smoked paprika
  • 2 sheets frozen butter puff pastry
  • 1 egg, beaten

You'll Need

  • Multix Bake

Method

  1. Heat oven to 200°C.
  2. Line a large baking tray with Multix Bake. Place 1 defrosted pastry sheet on sheet of Multix Bake. Spread the chilli sauce evenly over the pastry sheet, then sprinkle with half the grated cheese and top with the other sheet of pastry to create a sandwich.
  3. Cut in half, lengthways, to create 2 long rectangles. Then on the short length, cut the rectangles into thin strips, about 1.5 cm thick.
  4. Twist each pastry strip to make a twisty stick of pastry and place on the lined baking tray, allowing space between each for the pastry to rise as it bakes.
  5. Brush the pastries lightly with egg and sprinkle with the bacon pieces, the remaining cheese and chilli flakes (if you are using them).
  6. Bake for about 20 minutes or until risen and golden brown.
  7. Dust with smoked sweet paprika before serving.
